Marchese Earns “Heart of Lion” Award

The Dunmore Lions recently sponsored the District Governor’s meeting at Carmella’s Restaurant.

At the meeting, Lion Sal Marchese Sr. was awarded the Governor’s “Heart of a Lion” achievement award for his outstanding service to the Dunmore community over the past 37 years.

Accepting the award from District’s Governor Cathy Metschulat  is Sal Marchese Jr., since Mr. Marcese Sr.was unavailable.

Also, accepting service awards were Tony Lupia for 25 years and Sammy Valenza for 35 years.

 

 

DEC Students Treated to Magic Show

The Dunmore Lions Club recently sponsored the mystifying performance of Damian the Magician to over 800 Dunmore Elementary Students.

Damian, Pennsylvania’s foremost magical entertainer, performed his latest magical and mental artifices to the amazement and enjoyment of students and teachers.

Lion’s Club Recognizes Student Excellence at Annual Banquet

 

lionsThe Dunmore Lions Club recently held its 36th annual Scholarship Award Banquet at La Buona Vita Restaurant, Dunmore.  

Honored with Penn State scholarships were Paul Marmo of Holy Cross High School and Ryan Chao of Dunmore High School.

Remarks were offered by Margo Balderson, Senior Guidance Counselor, at Dunmore High School and Kandy Taylor, Dean of Students, at Holy Cross High School.

Presentation of Awards was made by Lion President James Aita and Committee Chairman Lion Sal Marchese. Lion James Colangelo served as toastmaster and commented “These and past award recipients demonstrate the outstanding traits necessary to receive Lions awards. All recipients have shown exemplary leadership. They’re all amazing students.”
