Holy Cross Defeats Dunmore in Annual Boys Intraborough Game

The Intraborough Boys Basketball Championship Game between Dunmore and Holy Cross High Schools was recently held at Dunmore High School. The game sponsored by the Dunmore Lions Club to help defray the cost of its College Scholarship program is now in its 38th year.

This year the Holy Cross Boys defeated the Dunmore Boys by a score 52-51 in an exciting overtime game.

Elite Bunny Hunt Planned for April 20th

Bunny Hunt

The annual Elite Bunny Hunt will be held Holy Saturday, April 20 at St. Anthony’s Playground at the top of Hill Street, Dunmore.  The Hunt is for children 11 years old or younger. The Bunny Hunt begins at 10 a.m. in the playground field areas.

In the event of inclement weather, St. Anthony’s Pavilion will be utilized to hand out all the treats and prizes. The event is being co-sponsored by the Dunmore Lions Club, Dunmore Rotary Club, and the Dunmore Police Department.

Dunmore Lions Club Hosts Annual Benefit Magic Show

Dunmore Lions Club held its annual benefit show featuring the “Magic of Damian,” Pennsylvania’s foremost magician, at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel, Dunmore. This marks the 24th consecutive year the Lions have featured Damian at Dunmore Elementary schools.

All proceeds this year will be utilized for scholarships to aid in college expenses for Dunmore and Holy Cross High Schools. The lions have been serving the community of Dunmore since 1952.
