The event was initiated by Dunmore’s Keystone UNICO in 2012 in cooperation with the Lackawanna County Commissioners.

Columbus Day Raffle Benefits St. Joe’s

At a Columbus Day Dinner of Lackawanna County, a fundraiser offering several baskets of cheer were raffled off with proceeds being donated to St. Joseph’s Center.

Ladies selling chances for the raffle were, from left: Michele McDade, Nicole Lubash, Mary Francis Feduchak and Marianne Cognetti.  

Joseph Parise is president of the Columbus Day Association of Lackawanna County.

Italian Flag Raising just Keystone Members 2017-10-1

Members of Keystone Chapter UNICO National participated in the Lackawanna County Italian Flag Raising, in conjunction with recognizing Christopher Columbus as the discoverer of America and recognizing October as being Italian Heritage and Culture Month.

Commissioner Pat O’Malley read the proclamation recognizing the contributions of Christopher Columbus and the many Italian Americans through the years and throughout our county.

The proclamation was signed by Lackawanna County Commissioners Pat O’Malley, Laureen Cummings and Jerry Notarianni.  Each Italian American Organization present received a copy of the Proclamation.
