UNICO Members Help Install Smoke Alarms


Dunmore’s Keystone Chapter of UNICO National volunteered with the Red Cross by installing smoke alarms” in numerous Dunmore homes on The Martin Luther King Day of Community Service.  Several chapter members went door to door offering this free device and installation service to homeowners in the Dunmore community.

Allied Services to host annual Breakfast with Santa


Allied Volunteers are offering their annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Graff Community Room at Allied Services.  The all-you-can-eat breakfast will include eggs, french toast, sausage, cereal, coffee, tea and juice while Christmas music plays throughout.

Santa will make his appearance and all will have the opportunity to sit with Santa and receive a gift.  Be sure to bring your camera. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children.  Reservations are a must and can be made by contacting P.J. Kilvitis at 570-348-1398.

College students volunteer to raise awareness for autism support

Students and faculty from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Marywood University volunteered at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School annual carnival to support autistic support classrooms in the Scranton School District. Money raised at this year’s event was to support the creation of a sensory playground that will be housed on the district’s property.
