Dunmore’s Keystone Chapter UNICO recently attended a presentation on keeping Columbus Day as the National Holiday on the second Monday in October and not having it changed to Indigenous Day, as some legislators want to do.

Speakers at this presentation were Andre’ DiMino of the Italian American One Voice Coalition (IAOVC), and Eunice Davidson, a full-blooded Dakota Sioux Native American and member of the Spirit Lake Reservation in North Dakota, and first president of the Native American Guardian Association.  The two organizations are in concert with keeping Columbus Day as is. The Scranton Chapter of UNICO National sponsored this event that many local Italian American organizations attended.
