Hockey players volunteer at Geisinger

Hockey players with the WBS youth team are shown during a community service event at Geisinger Medical Center where they distributed teddy bears and gift cards.

The players are, from left: Vlad Hioshvili, Paul DeNaples, Joe Campolieto, Michael Morrissey, Elijah Latimer and Tom Kowal, head coach.

Members of the team have also performed community service for the Boy Scouts, Ronald McDonald House and Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. Ranging in age from 16 to 20, they train at a high level, practicing and playing, while attending high school or online programs. Community service is also required.

Dunmoreans achieve Eagle Scout rank

Nick Bistran, left, and Jeremy Jarrow, right, both of Dunmore, were inducted as Eagle Scouts on Sunday, January 3.

The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America. The two were congratulated by Joe Fetsko, commander of the VFW’s McHugh Bushweller Post 3474 in Dunmore.
