Dunmore Chapter of UNICO Marks 5th Anniversary

unicoDunmore’s Keystone Chapter of UNICO National is recognized as having had the largest Chartering Night in UNICO National history on April 14, 2012.  The members of the Keystone Chapter recently celebrated their Fifth Anniversary with a fundraiser for “Serving Seniors.”

The chairpersons for this event were Robert Collins and Frank Coviello with the help of an amazing committee.  The theme was “Hollywood Italian Style” and the dinner was an Italian Pig Roast.

Guests who attended Fiorelli’s in Peckville walked the red carpet and proceeded to a photo set with an “Oscar Night” background for a personal picture taken by photographer Rich Banick.  The evening began with a two hour cocktail hour with passed appetizers for the first hour and dinner during the second hour.

Guests had the opportunity to have group pictures taken in a 1950’s Lounge Area set with photos of famous Italian movie stars serving as the background.  Electric City Photo Booth was also available for behind the curtain pictures. A Money Umbrella, Wilbur the Money Pig, and a large basket raffle were available for guests to buy chances on.

All guests were entered to win an evening for four with limousine service provided by VIP Limo and a $150 Gift Certificate to Angelo’s Restaurant.

On this occasion, the nine originators of the Keystone Chapter UNICO were recognized for their efforts in forming this chapter, the second largest in UNICO National.  Recognized members were Mary DePalma, Jim and Mary Mack, Mark and Michele McDade, Peter Noto, Val and and the late Ted Riggi and Marilyn Vitali.

Dominick Nicastro, UNICO National President, presented Keystone Chapter with a citation noting all of its accomplishments done in such a short time. After dinner, the Scranton Civic Ballet Company performed a Broadway-themed presentation, under Artistic Director Helen Gaus.  Dancers were Ginger Cruz, Emilie Gronsky, Julie Mazaleski, Sophia Serafini, Mia Zaloga and Robert Zaloga.  “E.J. the D.J.” provided lively musical entertainment for listening and dancing.
