Congratulations to the 2023 SAGE Award winners!

The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce hosted its Chamber Gala on November 3, where they presented the 2023 SAGE Awards—the Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence. Verizon presented this year’s event at the Scranton Art Haus Theater and Cinema Club.

Chamber board chair, Jerry Musheno, opened the ceremony by thanking all finalists, award sponsors, and Gala sponsors for their dedication to the NEPA community. The following were presenters for the evening— John Basalyga, owner of Scranton Art Haus, Marketplace at Steamtown, and JBAS Realty, and Robert McGuckin, manager–state and local government affairs for Verzion. Mike Castellano, special projects manager, United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike Counties, served as the emcee for the evening.

The SAGE Awards honor outstanding local businesses for their talent, creativity, and innovation.
The Chamber received nearly 90 SAGE Award applications. A team of volunteers scored the applications. The top three scoring applications were named finalists.

The 2023 SAGE Awards offered a new category to highlight businesses and their significant milestones, the Milestone Awards. 14 businesses were recognized throughout the award show: DBA Architects, LLC, Fidelity Bank, Goodwill Industries of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Highland Associates, Ltd., Inspired Studio, Montage Mountain Resorts, Needle Law, PC, Outreach – Center for Community Resources, Ski Shack, Space Time Mead & Cider Works, Talerico’s Tropical Winery, Tobyhanna Army Depot, WVIA, and WNEP.

The Chamber congratulates all finalists and winners of the 2023 SAGE Awards. The winners in each category are: Business of the Year, Titan Tree Service, Inc.; Community Involvement Excellence, Tobyhanna Army Depot’; Customer Service Excellence, Tech42, LLC; Marketing & Communications Excellence, Honesdale National Bank; New and Emerging Business of the Year, LFG Life Fitness Goals; Nonprofit Organization of the Year, WVIA; Product & Services Excellence, Merut Construction; People’s Choice, United Sports Academy; Small Business of the Year, Ski Shack; Workplace Excellence, Woodloch Resorts.

And the SAGE Awards finalists are…

The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce announces the finalists for the 2022 SAGE Awards, the Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence, including Dunmore businesses including Fidelity Bank, FNCB Bank, and Nibbles and Bits, as well as Penn State Scranton, which is located in Dunmore.

The SAGE Awards honor outstanding local businesses for their talent, creativity, and innovation. The winners will be announced on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Chamber Gala, a black-tie optional event that will be held at the Ritz Theater and Performing Arts Center.

More than 85 applications were received for this year’s awards and nearly 50 community leaders and professionals volunteered to review applications and select finalists. The Chamber is proud to honor businesses that are making valuable contributions to the region and contributing to our overall quality of life. 

The finalists, in each category, are: Best Practices in Community Involvement: Settlers Hospitality; Titan Tree Service, Inc., Tobyhanna Army Depot; Best Practices in Customer Service: Century Dental Associates, CTB Studio, Northeast Music Center Inc.; Best Practices in Marketing & Communications: Golden Technologies, Market Share Consulting, Settlers Hospitality; Business of the Year: Disaster Blaster, Montage Mountain Resorts, United Sports Academy; Fastest Growing Company: FNCB, Nibbles and Bits, United Sports Academy; Hometown Star: Camp Freedom Inc., Scranton Area Foundation-NEPA Gives; United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties; Impact Award-Community Outreach: Penn State Scranton, Tobyhanna Army Depot, WVIA; Impact Award-Products & Services: Alleima, Fidelity Bank, Inspired Studio; Impact Award-People & Culture: Coal Studio, Tobyhanna Army Depot, United Sports Academy; New and Emerging Business of the Year: Emobile Gym Fitness LCC, The Prescription Center, Cherry Street; THEKIMMY; Non-Profit Business of the Year: Camp Freedom Inc., Children’s Service of Wyoming County, Northeast Pennsylvania Youth for Christ Inc.; Small Business of the Year: Blu Elefante Events, Nibbles and Bits, The Training Loft LCC.

Additionally, all award finalists can also win the People’s Choice Award, where the winner will be chosen by voting from Monday, Nov. 7, through Friday, Nov. 11.

SAGE Award Winners Announced

The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce hosted its Chamber Gala in November, presenting the Fall 2021 SAGE Awards – the Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence. This year’s event was held at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center and sponsored by Fidelity Bank.

Chamber board chair, Deborah Kolsovsky, opened the ceremony thanking all finalists, award sponsors, and Gala sponsors for their dedication to the NEPA community. Emcee for the evening was Barry Snyder – formerly known as B-Ray with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre baseball franchise and now with the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.  Musical entertainment was provided by Lexington Entertainment and EJ the DJ.

The SAGE Awards honor outstanding local businesses for their talent, creativity, and innovation. The Fall SAGE Awards also included the IMPACT Awards, which were created to honor and recognize the innovation our local businesses employed due to COVID-19.
