Read Across America Week at the DEC

The Dunmore Elementary Center celebrated Read Across America Week recently, which coincides with Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Students celebrated Dr. Seuss and his stories by wearing socks for Fox in Socks Day, dressing in green for Green Eggs and Ham Day, and more. Pictured are students and teachers participating in some Dr. Seuss fun.

Local hockey team participates in Read Across America Week

Members of the WBS Knights Hockey Team performed community service at the Fricchione Center on the Marywood University campus during Read Across America Week.

Shown, from left, are: Stephen Kelly, Jim Elser (kneeling) Tim Gelatt, Aiden Beck, Zed Dietrich, Austin Redders, Matt Bernack and Tanner Bennett.

Ranging in age from 16 to 20, the young men come from all over the United States and around the world to play hockey in this area.

Team members attending Holy Cross High school include: Dennis Arkhypenko, Sacha Guillemain, Alex Makarin, Karlis Lasis, Tyler Briley, Kohei Sato and Andre Svistunov.
