Mayor’s Message: November 2023

By Mayor Max Conway

I am happy to report that the Dunmore Business Association is going full steam ahead with the planning of our second annual “Christmas in The Corners” event!  As a reminder, the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 9,  in “Dunmore Corners”. This event promises to be a magical evening filled with holiday joy and community spirit, and we believe that your involvement can make it even more memorable for the people (and, most importantly, the children) of Dunmore.

To make “Christmas in The Corners” another resounding success, we are seeking YOUR SUPPORT! Your generosity can help us cover the costs associated with decorations, entertainment, lighting, security, and free giveaways for the children of the Borough. The goal of our fundraising effort is to ensure that everything at this event is provided FOR FREE for the children of Dunmore.

We want to bring a little Holiday magic to the Borough, but we need your help!

If you would like to donate, checks can be made payable to “Dunmore Business Association” and mailed to 201 South Blakely Street, #102, Dunmore, PA 18512. You can also donate via Venmo or PayPal with the QR codes below! If you have any questions, please email DunmoreBusinessAssociation@gmail.com or call 570-362-5942. Thank you!

Mayor’s Message: August 2023

By Mayor Max Conway

My Fellow Dunmoreans,

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I share the news that legendary Dunmore football coach Jack Henzes has passed away. We mourn the loss of a remarkable man who not only shaped the Dunmore football program, but also touched the lives of so many in our wider Dunmore community.

His accomplishments and accolades on the gridiron are too lengthy to mention here…he was as legendary on the field as any you can find in Pennsylvania. Arguably his greatest accomplishment, however, was his success in building strong, responsible, and compassionate individuals. The mark Coach Henzes left on his players’ lives was felt long after they left the halls of Dunmore High School; and many of his former players have gone on to make meaningful contributions to our area and our Nation. For that we will always be grateful.

We will always be appreciative of the positive impact Coach Henzes had on so many in our Borough. Our entire Borough Government and I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.

May Coach Henzes rest in peace knowing that his legacy will be forever engrained in the fabric of our Dunmore Community. In the words of Coach Henzes, “Once a Buck, Always a Buck!”
