Irene Cinquegrani, center, a resident at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Dunmore, recently celebrated her 108th birthday. The milestone occasion was marked with a certificate of recognition from the Lackawanna County Commissioners.

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented officials from Meals on Wheels of Northeastern Pennsylvania a $2,500 check, which represents a portion of the proceeds from the recent Senior Health Fair.
The funds will be used for operations and the preparation and delivery of meals to the home bound of our community.

The Diogenes Society held its annual meeting last month at The Scranton Club, where Lackawanna Commissioner Patrick O’Malley received a special award for community service.
