Knights of Columbus Halloween Party

The Dunmore Knights of Columbus recently held its annual Halloween party for about 100 area children and their family members at the Dunmore Community Center.

Volunteers from the Dunmore Knights of Columbus, Council 3635, with the help of area businesses, provided food, drinks, entertainment by a juggler, and a costume contest for categories such as the youngest, scariest, most original, funniest, and cutest.

Marywood Students Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer's Walk - 1Marywood University’s Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) recently volunteered at the two-mile Walk to End Alzheimer’s that was held at PNC Field.

Through the efforts of more than 800 participants, the walk raised nearly $130,000. Money raised will provide funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Cancer Institute to host Spirit of Hope Celebration on November 3rd

The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and the Board of Ambassadors and Associate Board will host its sixth annual Spirit of Hope Celebration on Friday, Nov. 3, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Pocono in the Keystone Grand Ballroom. The event features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, food stations, live music by Paul LaBelle and The Exact Change Band and a live and silent auction.

Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased by calling the Cancer Institute at (570) 941-7984 or online at www.cancernepa.org. The 2017 Tribute to Courage honorees are Paul and Sharon LaBelle.
