Locals named to collegiate dean’s lists

Dr. Joseph Evan, vice president for academic affairs at King’s College, recently announced two students from Dunmore who have qualified for the Spring 2016 dean’s list.

They are Jenna Kimmerle and Jillian Korgeski.

Two hundred and ninety-six Lackawanna College students were also named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester. A student qualifies for the Dean’s List if they achieve a grade point average of 3.2 with a minimum of nine credit hours to qualify.

Dunmore students named to the Dean’s List were: Christopher W. Bell, Stephanie J. Craig, Briana L. Dunn, Sara A. Grande, Christopher R. Iezzi, Nelly G. Linan Pereda, Shannon M. Regan, Angelo J. Riggi and Joseph W. Wolff.

 

Local students awarded scholarships

Students from Holy Cross High School and Dunmore High School were awarded scholarships by the Dunmore Lions Club at the 35th annual Scholarship Award Banquet held recently at Carmella’s Restaurant.

Keystone UNICO scholarship recipients

The Keystone Chapter UNICO National recently awarded three High School Seniors $1,000 each and a certificate of achievement for both their academic standing and community service involvement.

Pictured in the front row, from left are scholarship recipients Maren Lindemuth, Dunmore High School, who will attend Penn State Worthington majoring in Mathematics; Cassandra Diehl, North Pocono High School, who will attend Penn State Main majoring in Chemistry and Secondary Education; and Christina Brannon, Holy Cross High School, who will attend The University of Scranton majoring in Biology and Philosophy.
