Local groups make donations to Dunmore Fire Department

Dunmore Rotary Club and Sacks Tailor Shop recently made donations to the Dunmore Fire Department. The Rotary Club purchased a 200-foot RIT Response NFPA Rated Escape Rope and an Over-The-Shoulder Rope bag with Quick Release Strap, and Sacks Tailor Shop donated a set of elevator keys.

Railriders win Triple A National Championship

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented a proclamation to Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders executive Jeremy Ruby, inside left, in recognition of his leadership during the team’s outstanding 2016 season and title run.  The club tied the franchise record for wins, won the Governors Cup and captured the Triple A National Championship Game to close out a magical campaign.

Marywood students participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Members of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association – Marywood Chapter (Speech and Hearing Club) participated in the 2 mile Walk to End Alzheimer’s held at PNC Field recently. The walk raised $104,944.89 through the efforts of 788 participants to provide funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
