Civil War Roundtable Restarts

The Scranton Civil War Roundtable will resume meetings on Tuesday, April 20, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The Abington Community Library will be the Zoom host and everyone interested can obtain the zoom link by contacting either Charlie Spano or Renee Roberts, Project Manager, Abington Community Library 1200 W. April’s topic will focus on the antecedents of the Civil War, including the policies of President James Buchanan, the Dred Scott decision, and the failure of the 1850 compromise and its effect on the country.

The Scranton Civil War Roundtable toured the Dunmore Cemetery on Tuesday, June 18, under the guidance of Julie Esty from the Dearly Departed Players group.

The Roundtable is a discussion group of Civil War enthusiasts and descendants which meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Abington Community Library, 1200 West Grove St., Clarks Summit, to discuss issues, battles and politics of the Civil War and the era. Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend and join the Roundtable.
