Lackawanna County sheriff speaks to Dunmore Elementary students

Sheriff Mark McAndrew recently spoke to fourth grade students at the Dunmore Elementary Center about the importance of academics, showing respect for authority, and making good decisions for oneself.

His underlying message was that if you have self-esteem, everything else will fall into place.  The Little Bucks appreciated his words of wisdom.

County Sheriff’s Office Recognized for “Good Works”

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented a “Good Works” certificate to the Sheriff’s Office staff who recently facilitated the eight session “Active Shooters” seminar series for all County employees.

Conducted at Marywood University, the program was designed to educate staff on how to: recognize signs of potential threats; protect/defend themselves, and be cognizant of the surroundings they are in.
