Keystone UNICO presented a donation to Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania, as part of the ongoing “Random Act of Kindness Program” at their January meeting at Colarusso’s Coal Fire Pizza.
The goal of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of local children who live with the fear and uncertainty of a life-threatening disease. In Lackawanna County alone, 300 children have been recipients of a “Magical Wish” since 1983.
Anyone who would like to donate, can send a check payable to “Make-A-Wish” to 327 North Washington Avenue, Suite 501, Scranton, PA 18503. For more information, call Maggie O’Brien, Regional Manager at 570-341-9474.

A check presentation was made to Saint Joseph’s Center in memory of Chapter Charter Member Cherie’ Mecca by her mother, Keystone Chapter Charter member Dolores Mecca. Accepting the check was UNICO member Sister Mary Alice Jacquinot, IHM.
Another highlight of the evening was the three U.S. Marines who were present to accept the plethora of Christmas gifts and monetary donations for their annual Toys for Tots Drive, an annual ritual for Keystone since its chartering. This donation was cochaired by Peter and Sallie Noto.
Entertainment was provided by song stylist Jimmie Cerminaro throughout the evening, with Italian love songs and traditional Christmas music to listen to and dance by. Several songs were duets with Keystone Member Toni DiVizio. Three Christmas stockings stuffed with PA Lottery Tickets were raffled off to three lucky winners–Marie Burke, Dr. Frank DeFrank and Val Riggi. Fiorelli’s dinner buffet made the evening complete.
