Dunmorean Appointed Professor at University of Scranton

U of S ProfThe University of Scranton has appointed 15 new full-time faculty members for the 2017-18 academic year, including Francis T. Conserette of Dunmore, who was named assistant professor in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Memorial Library.

Conserette previously worked as a library metadata specialist at The University of Scranton, as a property title analyst, as a document imaging specialist and as a curator assistant at the Eisenhower National Historic Site in Gettysburg.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree in library and information science from Drexel University.

 

 

From Marywood Students to Physician Assistants

Those choices include: master of business administration 2.0. (MBA); master of public administration (MPA); master of science degree in higher education administration; master of science degree in criminal justice; master’s degree for practicing physician assistants; principal certification; and an accelerated online autism endorsement.

Online Master of Business Administration 2.0

The MBA 2.0 online program is a convenient, online course designed for busy professionals. An MBA at Marywood can be earned is as little as two years. Online courses are delivered in real time and recorded for future reference. Marywood University’s MBA 2.0 program provides general business administration knowledge and training with a special focus on one of three areas of concentration, including: finance and investment; management; or management information systems (MIS).

Online Master of Public Administration

An exclusive 30-credit MPA program is completely online and provides students with helpful and relevant approaches that integrate academic elements with practical skills. The curriculum is designed for full-time and in-career students who come from different geographical areas, from within the United States and throughout the world, as well as from a wide variety of professional and academic backgrounds.

Online Master of Science Degree in Higher Education Administration

Our fully online master of science (M.S.) degree in higher education administration will prepare you for a variety of mid-level careers in public and private colleges and universities. Career opportunities in the field of higher education administration include: student services; enrollment management; institutional advancement; alumni affairs; institutional research; career development; academic advising/support; and international affairs.

Online Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice

Beginning in the fall, Marywood University will offer an online graduate program in criminal justice. “The online program will accommodate people’s busy schedules without weakening the integrity of a strong education,” said Jeremy Rich, Ph.D., associate professor and director of the criminal justice program at Marywood University. Two criminal justice courses on crime mapping and cybercrime will be offered this fall and will be taught by Mr. Jeffrey E. Clutter and Ms. Hannarae Lee.

Online Master of Physician Assistant Professional Studies

Marywood’s 30-credit online master’s degree in physician assistant professional studies (MPAPS) program provides quality graduate education to practicing PAs, to help them further develop their professional skills and contribute to their field. All courses are online, making it convenient for PAs to earn a master’s degree while working. A MPAPS degree will enable students to: teach at the college level; conduct scholarly research; publish work and present at conferences; and prepare students for administrative roles in healthcare organizations.

Online Principal Certification

Marywood University’s principal certification program, which is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, educates school principals who serve children, families, teachers, and communities in ethical and inspiring ways. Courses are delivered in hybrid and online formats, with periodic on-campus workshops that offer the opportunity to network with current and aspiring school leaders, learn from engaging speakers, and review coursework. Classes are taught by experienced principals, superintendents, and other school administrators from Northeast Pennsylvania.

Online Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement

The 12-credit accelerated online autism spectrum disorder (ASD) program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and can be completed in just two semesters. All classes are online, making them convenient for working professionals. Coursework is supplemented by 80 hours of field experience, which allows students to work directly with children with ASD.
