Firefighters Maurice Menichetti and Greg Rhodes present Chief Chris DeNaples with a Gold Leaf front shield on behalf of the part-time firefighters to show their appreciation of the great leadership within the Dunmore Fire Department.
S&L Designs created and donated a new sign to Dunmorean Firefighters IAFF Local 860. After years of driving past the Dunmore fire station, Scott Bidwell Jr. noticed the fading sign and knew he had to take action and do something to honor the firefighters who risk their lives and give back to the community. Bidwell is grateful to Chief DeNaples and Mayor Max Conay for giving the go ahead for this donation. S&L Designs is named for Scott, the owner and his girlfriend Lauren Del Santro. They live on Bunker Hill.
The Dunmore Lions, Rotary, Police and Fire Departments once again combined efforts to hold the 43rd annual “Elite Bunny Hunt” which is always held on Holy Saturday at St. Anthony’s Playground and Pavilion.
The event begins with an Easter Egg Hunt at the adjoining baseball field followed by a chocolate bunny hunt inside the pavilion. Over 600 bags of candy, featuring large and small chocolate bunnies, were distributed to children under the age of 11. Also featured was an Easter basket raffle, ice cream treats, and photos with the Easter Bunny.
