Ballet Theatre Presents: “Dracula”

The Ballet Theatre of Scranton Northeastern Pennsylvania’s premier ballet company, will present International Choreographer Arkadiy Orohovsky’s haunting love story, Dracula, on Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 pm at the Theater at North.

Under Artistic Director Joanne Arduino of Dunmore, Ballet Theatre’s Senior Company, together with Emmy award winning lighting designer Dennis Size, will tantalize your senses, move your heart and capture your soul as they relay the true and tragic tale based on the Bram Stoker novel.

Busy Performance Schedule for Emerald Isle Step Dancers

The Emerald Isle Step Dancers will kick off their busiest time of the year on Friday, March 3, performing for The Emerald Society’s Annual St Patrick’s Dinner held at the Scranton/Dunmore FOP Lodge.

They will also entertain in the Pittston City St Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 4;  at Beech Mountain in Drums on Friday, March 10; and in Scranton’s 56th Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade, on Saturday, March 11, with a later performance at the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 6, 10th Annual Parade Day Party at St Joseph Hall, Davis Street.

Dunmore sisters featured in annual “Nutcracker” production

This year’s performance of “The Nutcracker” will feature a sister act from our borough of Dunmore. Catherine Conway (kneeling left), Mae Conway (kneeling right) and Elizabeth Conway will be a part of the company presenting the Ballet Theatre of Scranton’s 41st production of “The Nutcracker.”

To date, “The Nutracker” has been staged 270 times, and 4,800 regional dancers have taken the stage to bring this Christmas gift to the community.

This year, Elizabeth Conway will take on the role of the Sugarplum Fairy, reprising her role from last year. Also featured in the production will be Selena Knowlton as Clara and Kegan Lance as the Nutcracker Prince.

BTOS and Marywood University will present the annual free performances of “The Nutcracker” Dec. 26, 27 and 28th at Marywood’s Sette LaVerghetta Theatre. There will be shows at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. each day.

Free tickets for the general public will be available two hours prior to the specific performance at the Marywood box office.

PLEASE NOTE: A maximum of 4 tickets per person per performance will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
