Commissioners’ Cross Country Invitation Set for September 8th

The annual Lackawanna County Commissioners Cross Country Invitational Race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at McDade Park, Scranton, featuring high school athletes from a tristate area.

The top 25 finishers in the boys and girls junior high categories along with the girls and boys varsity divisions will be recognized. Winning teams in each of the race categories will also be honored.

FNCB Bank Employee Earns National Certification

FNCB Cummings_MichaelFNCB Bank is pleased to announce Michael S. Cummings, Vice President, Marketing Manager, was recently awarded the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) certification from the American Bankers Association.

“Earning the CFMP certification validates Michael’s experience, discipline and depth of education in bank marketing,” said Gerard Champi, FNCB Bank President and CEO.

“It’s a designation that is well deserved and one we are all proud of.”

The CFMP certification is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of financial services marketing. To qualify for the CFMP certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the financial services marketing profession, pass an exam and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CFMP exam covers many areas including financial principles, laws and regulations, market research, characteristics of marketing plans, and marketing components.

Cummings has been with FNCB for seven years and is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s marketing efforts. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Prior to joining FNCB, he spent 21 years is sports marketing and public relations with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and Yankees.

Financial services professionals, working through ABA, initiated the CFMP certification and seven others in order to establish meaningful standards of knowledge in specialty areas of the financial services industry. Daniel Santaniello to be Honored as “Man of the Year”

SantanielloThe 110th annual dinner of the Columbus Day Association of Lackawanna County honoring the voyage of the great Italian explorer and discoverer of the New World will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Fiorelli’s, Peckville, beginning at 5 p.m. with cocktails and dinner beginning at 6 o’clock.

This year the Columbus Day Association will honor Daniel J. Santaniello as Italian American Man of the Year. Mr. Santaniello is President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank. He was born and raised in Lackawanna County and currently resides with his wife and four children in Moscow. Mr. Santaniello is dedicated to both his profession and to many local philanthropic and civic organizations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the dinner, a highlight of the Columbus Day observance in Lackawanna County.
