Holy Cross names cast for upcoming production of “The Music Man”

Holy Cross High School will present “The Music Man” on November 22, 23 and 24.

Cast members include Christopher Rotell-Tierney as Professor Harold Hill; Avah Boock as Marian Paroo; Gavin Brennan as Marcellus Washburn; Liz Myers as Mrs. Paroo; Lila Tallo as Winthrop Paroo; Natalia Matrone as Mrs. Eulalia Schinn; C.J. Muir as Mayor Schinn; Michael Frederickson as Olinn Britt; Jonathan Novak as Ewart Dunlop and Thomas Gilchrist as Oliver Hix.

Also, Madison Barlow as Jacey Squires; Cameron Kelly as Zanetta Schinn; James Kennedy as Tommy Dijlas; Emma Triano as Alma Hix; Lily Turnbull as Maud Dunlop; Ally Bilski as Ethel Toffelmier; Neveah Harrington as Mrs. Squires; Juliana Dudley as Amaryllis; Sarah Sumski as Gracie Schinn; Gracie Gregorowicz as Constable Lock, and Wiliam Muir as Charlie Cowell.

Dance captains for the show are Cameron Kelly, Olivia Strazzeri and Lily Turnbull.

The High School Ensemble includes Olivia Byron, Elizabeth Coval, Grace Donahue, Mary Guiziewicz, Alyssa Hartman, Keira Lalli, Libby Lalli, Cole Lipinski, Grace O’Malley, Anna Polishan, Bridget Rasimovich, Allie Romanchick, Olivia Strazzeri, Sophia Triano, Miriam Valentine and Julie Walsh.

The River City Band includes Audrey Albert, Sadie Battenberg, Nina DeSantis, Diana Idhaw, Cameron Jezorwski, Jarys Jezorwski, Rowan McDonald, Max Meola, Sarah O’Brien, Andi Romanchick and Skylynn Williams.

McDonald Foundation makes donation to Cancer Institute

The McDonald Foundation presented the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute with a $5,000 donation to support its Community-Based Cancer Screening Navigation Program.

The Spirit of Hope Board of Ambassadors is a group of community volunteers that hosts an annual Spirit of Hope Celebration in November at Mohegan Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the event benefit the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s Community-Based Cancer Screening Navigation Program. This program helps low income and un/underinsured individuals in northeast Pennsylvania get their recommended colorectal, breast, cervical, and lung cancer screenings.

Marywood hosts Policy Perspectives speakers

Marywood University’s Center for Law, Justice, and Policy is hosting a Policy Perspectives speaker series this October. Patrick M. Seffrin, Ph.D., associate professor, directs the Center for Law, Justice, and Policy at Marywood. Dr. Seffrin says the series “will provide an invaluable opportunity to engage with leading legal professionals and gain insight into contemporary legal issues and practices.”

The series provides the opportunity for anyone interested in law, justice, and policy to hear from professionals working on the frontlines of legal practice. Each speaker will offer their perspective on various legal and policy-related topics.

Thursday, Oct. 3: Timothy Doherty, Assistant District Attorney of Lackawanna County

Tuesday, Oct. 8: Ben Josielevski, Staff Attorney at Domestic Violence Service Center

Tuesday, Oct. 22: Michael Dempsey, Associate Attorney at Lenahan & Dempsey, P.C.

Thursday, Oct. 24: Corinne Taylor, Special Counsel at Coughlin and Gerhart, LLP

Asst. District Attorney of Lackawanna County Michael McGrath spoke on October 1.

All events are free and open to the public, and each talk will take place on its respective date from 6-7 p.m. in The Cloud Room at the Center for Architectural Studies at Marywood University.
