DHS names new Miss Buck for 2024-2025 school year

Julia Temperino, above, was recently selected as the new Miss Buck for the 2024-2025 school year during tryouts before the student body at Dunmore High School. The current Miss Buck, Mia Irving, decided not to try out and pass the baton to a fellow student.

DHS students inducted into National Honor Society

Congratulations to Dunmore High School students who were inducted into the National Honor Society in March. Senior NHS officers did a great job speaking and running the ceremony.

Megan Gaynord served as our speaker. Mrs. Maura Irving and Mrs. Christy Hinton were organizers for the event.

Dunmore fifth graders become published authors

After finishing a unit on figurative language in Mrs. Jamie Davis’s reading class, fifth graders at the Dunmore Elementary Center put their new knowledge to work and created class books that were sent out and published.

Each classroom book was titled, “I am a Metaphor”, and each student’s poem was to be titled with a metaphor that described themselves.  Students were given criteria that they needed to follow, which included illustrating their poem.  The students enjoyed working on this assignment and are even more excited knowing that they are published authors!
