Actors Circle will open its 42nd season with a presentation of “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani, at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road, Scranton. Show dates are Sept. 21, 22 23, 24, 29, 30, and Oct. 1, with performances on Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays at 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Directed by David Alejandro Smith, the cast includes Marnie Azzarelli, George Conrad, Jess Mason, Justin O’Hearn, Katie O’Neil, and Kilber Rubio of Dunmore. Jeff Ginsberg and Jessi Teevan are producers. This is presented through special arrangement by Dramatist Play Service, Inc. and special grants from The Lackawanna County for the Arts and Culture, the Scranton Area Foundation for the Arts, and Walmart.
It is composed of nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town called Almost, Maine. It premiered at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine in 2004, where it broke box office records and garnered critical acclaim.
