Catholic Choral Society kicking off 74th year

The Catholic Choral Society will begin its 74th year on Tuesday, Sept. 13th with rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the IHM center at Marywood University. New members are welcome; no auditions are required.

The Choral Society is non-denominational and composed of members from Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Suquehanna, Pike and Wyoming counties. The chorus performs sacred, classical, and secular music at performances in Northeast PA counties.

The Catholic Choral Society’s first concert is the annual November Generations Concert on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3 p,m. at Holy Rosary Church, Scranton, where the chorus will host regional choral groups from elementary school through college. Additional choral presentations are scheduled for the Advent, Christmas, Lenten and spring seasons.

Director of the Choral society is Ann Manganiello, Exeter and accompanist is Kim Gnall, Scranton.
