Isabella P. Bonavoglia, Dunmore, died Saturday in the Jewish Home of Eastern PA.  Her husband, Vincent A. Bonavoglia, preceded her in death in 1989.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Salvatore and Catalda (Catherine) Naro Nicosia, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and had been a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish.  She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Samter’s, and later retired from the Dunmore School District, where she was proud to have worked for over 20 years.

She was always impeccably dressed to the nines, with her hair and makeup done perfectly.  She was a member of the Jocelyn Club, where they would meet to play Pokeno once a month and take bus trips to New York and Atlantic City  ran by her sister-in-law, Jennie Nicosia.  She loved to entertain at home. Her life was her husband and son, and later her grandchildren whom she babysat upon retirement..  She was an excellent cook, and was known for her delicious  spaghetti sauce, with a secret recipe that she would never share with anyone.

Surviving is her son, Vincent A. Jr. and wife Marie, and grandchildren Nina, Mia, and Vinny, all of Dunmore; nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded by her brothers Michael, John, Tony, Joseph, Sammy, and Carl Nicosia, and her sister, Grace Biagioni.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.  All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
