Dunmore High School’s band and marching units will participate in a Cavalcade of Bands on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6:30 p.m. hosted by the North Pocono Trojan Band and Marching Units, with the assistance of the North Pocono Band Parents Association.
The event will be held at the North Pocono Stadium Complex, located behind the district’s middle school at 701 Church Street in Moscow. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted at the gates, which open at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to Dunmore and North Pocono, bands and marching units from Abington Heights, Carbondale, Honesdale, Lakeland, Mid-Valley, Valley View, and Western Wayne will participate. Each group will perform its halftime field show. Program books, featuring participating bands, will be distributed free of charge.
The Cavalcade of Bands is an exhibition-style performance, not a competition. Because of this, bands and marching units can perform their field shows without worrying about judging criteria, timing, and other restrictions. There will be refreshments provided for participants and limited concessions available for sale to audience members. Additionally, t-shirts and air-gram greetings will be sold at the event.
