The 9/11 Memorial Committee of Lackawanna County will hold its annual observation of Flag Day and Army Day on Tuesday, June 14. on the North Washington Avenue side of the Courthouse from 4-5 pm. The public is invited. The observation will include Judah Whitney, LTC, (Ret.) speaking on the US Army; the Riverside Intermediate School Chorus along with Ashley DeFlice providing music, and the parade of flags. Msgr. Thomas Muldowney will give invocation and benediction.
The Continental Congress adopted the form of the US flag on June 14, 1777, and the Continental Army was formed June 14, 1775.
