
Anthracite Opera Company will present Mainly Classical, a show featuring classic pieces from opera, including Rigoletto and Madam Butterfly, as well as Broadway tunes, on Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m.. Directed by Anthracite founder, Gary Richards, the musical performance will be presented at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Anthracite Opera members performing for this show are: Erik Sparks, Ann Marie Dupre, Barbara Liberasky-Nowicki, Gary Richards, Jack Bernesky, Dennis Fanucci, Jillian Kemmerer, Matthew Merolla, Leeann Lemperle, Cathy Rist Strauch, T.J. Worobey and Abigail Zieger. Dr. Lawrence Kauffman is accompanist. Cost for show only is $15, payable at the door.
A dinner is also planned for after the show at 5:30 p.m. at the Rossetti Estate & Trust for the Arts, located at 1005 Vine Street in Scranton. Cost for dinner and show is $25. Dinner seating is limited.
Dinner includes: appetizers, main course, dessert, and entertainment featuring the barbershop quartet, Vocal Accord. Members are: Don Overdorff, Raleigh Bloch, Dane Bower and Lou Volpetti. Reservations are required for dinner, by contacting Gary Richards at 570-335-7702.
Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department and The Scranton Area Community Foundation jointly released
Some actions have already taken place towards addressing some of these goals. The Scranton Area Community Foundation in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has implemented an Equitable Transportation Council comprised of over 80 regional participants with the goal of making transportation more accessible.
