With summer rolling along, I wanted to provide a quick update on the real progress we’ve made on our downtown Dunmore revitalization plan. This plan has been years in the making, and I am excited to unveil it fully in the coming weeks.
We’ve been working tirelessly with engineers, architects, and consultants to make Dunmore the vibrant small town we all know it can be, starting with our downtown area.
Our goals include adding greenspaces and trees, making the area walkable, and boosting our downtown businesses.

Christmas at the Corners brought holiday spirit to throngs of Borough residents
By Mayor Max Conway
I can’t thank everyone enough who played a role in turning our 2nd Annual “Christmas in the Corners” event into a massive success!
Special thanks to the members of the Dunmore Business Association, our incredibly generous contributors, Dunmore’s first responders, DPW, and our volunteers who made the whole event seamless. A special round of applause goes to Cara Lowe from Cara Mia’s Delicatessen, who worked her magic for months, hustling to secure donations, find vendors, snag sponsors, book entertaining acts, and find the perfect gifts for the children of Dunmore.
What makes me proudest about this event is that no child left the event empty-handed. Witnessing the entire Dunmore community come together in this selfless Christmas Spirit was a heartwarming reminder that there’s truly no place like Dunmore.
Ally, Mollie, and I want to wish everyone a safe and joy-filled Holiday season! We will see you again next year!
P.S. The number of times I heard “I feel like I’m in a Hallmark Movie” would make the Hallmark channel blush!
It’s hard to believe that 2023 is drawing to a close! But before it does, I hope you all will join us at The Dunmore Business Association’s “Christmas in the Corners” event on Saturday, December 9th starting at 2:30pm! Last year’s event was a great success, and we hope that this year’s event will be even better!
If you do plan on attending, I hope you will consider donating to one of our wonderful community causes. The VFW Post 3474 will be hosting its annual Toys for Tots Raffle. The Dunmore Police Department will be hosting their annual “Cram the Cruiser” toy drive where they will be collecting new, unwrapped presents for kids between the ages of newborn to 16 years old. And I will be collecting new gloves, mittens, and other winter attire for the annual “Mollie’s Mittens” tree. The Holiday season is the perfect time to donate to these causes that help so many in the Dunmore community.
Ally, Mollie, and I also want to wish everyone a happy and safe Holiday season. I hope that you share this festive time with those you love and those most important to you! I look forward to seeing what 2024 brings to this wonderful Borough!
