Area Twirlers Perform in Miss America Pageant Parade

The Double “R” Twirlettes recently performed in the Miss America Pageant Parade on the world famous boardwalk of Atlantic City, NJ. The event featured Miss America 2018 as well as the 52 Miss America 2019 contestants, former title winners, and performance groups from across the country.

Double “R” Twirlettes Dazzle in LLWS Grand Slam Parade

The Double “R” Twirlettes recently performed in the Little League World Series Grand Slam Parade. The event is the start of the annual Little League Baseball World Series and features the 16 teams competing in the championship along with national, regional and local performance groups.

The Twirlettes, under the direction of Kathleen Y. Mercatili, will begin its 70th anniversary season this fall.

High School Marching Units Feature Double “R” Twirlettes

The Double “R” Twirlettes were well represented this football season as 14 group members twirled with seven different high school band fronts at games, pep rallies, and other events throughout the fall.

The Twirlettes performed with Dunmore, Mid Valley, North Pocono, Abington Heights, Scranton, Old Forge, and Wyoming Valley West High Schools. The girls are students of Kathleen Y. Mercatili who is director of the Double “R” Twirlettes.
