Student musicians at DHS showcase talents in Western PA

LEFT: Congratulations to Dunmore High School student Emma Renard who was selected for the Future Music Educators Honors Symposium. She spent several days participating in this prestigious event in Erie.

RIGHT: For the second year in a row, Dunmore High School student John Silvi qualified for All-State Band after competing at the district and regional levels. John  just participated in PMEA’s All-State Band Festival in Erie. 

Dunmoreans celebrate musical achievements, qualify for state & regional festivals

Congratulations are in order for Dunmore High School student Emma Renard for some huge accomplishments.

Emma participated in PMEA District 9 Orchestra at Wyoming Valley West High School, where she earned second chair cello. She will advance to Northeast Regional Orchestra this month.

Emma is the first Dunmore student to qualify for all three PMEA Region festivals (band, chorus and orchestra)!

Emma was also awarded the prestigious William Gasbarro Scholarship, given each year to a PMEA District 9 musician who intends to major in music education.

SHOWN ABOVE: Congratulations to also to John Silvi, Loren Spudic, and Aidan Walsh, who along with Emma represented DHS at PMEA Region IV Band at Honesdale High School on February 24.

For the second year in a row, John Silvi qualified for the PMEA All State Band, representing Dunmore High School.

He will travel to Erie in April to participate in the All-State Concert Band.

Well done to John and all of the talented musicians we have in our Dunmore school communities!
