Production of “On Golden Pond” Set for This Month; Area Students Design Poster

Actors Circle will present Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Rd., Scranton, on March 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 28. Performances on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $12, general; $10 seniors, $8 students. On Thursday, March 19, tickets are $8 general and seniors, $6 students. For reservations Call 570-342-9707. All reservations are held 10 minutes until show time.

Directed by Katie VonBergen, this well known play tells the story of Norman Thayer and his energetic wife, Ethel, who have been spending the summers at their lakeside home on Golden Pond for 48 years, fishing and watching for loons. Then, their divorced daughter, Chelsea, her new fiancé, and his teenage son make an unexpected visit.

Cast members are: Bob Taylor as Norman Thayer; Carol Davis as Ethel Thayer; Marcie Herman Riebe as Chelsea Thayer; Eric Lutz as Billy Ray Wayne; Michael Semus Fenton-Kapacs as Billy Ray Wayne Jr., and Jeff Ginsberg as Charlie Martin.

Mariely Colin is stage manager; Jeff Ginsberg and Lou Bisignani, producers; John VonBergen, set designer and master builder; Margo Azzarelli, set decorator; Cathy Rist Strauch, artistic painter and publicist.

Keelin Schimelfenig and Jillian Brennan, students of Holy Cross High School. designed the artwork for the poster. Benjamin Tolerico is the high school principal, and Kristina Toolan is their art teacher.

Jane Foy is Actors Circle’s president.

Lady Bucks Win 2020 Intraborough Girls Championship

The Intraborough Girls Basketball Championship Game between Dunmore and Holy Cross High Schools was recently held at Dunmore High School.

This year the Dunmore Girls defeated the Holy Cross Girls by a score 49-23 and finished the regular season with one loss.

The game sponsored by the Dunmore Lions Club to help defray the cost of their College Scholarship Program is now in its 39th year.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart Names New Medical Director

Kilduff Patrick C. Kilduff, DO, MPT, has been named Medical Director for Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Dr. Kilduff has been a hospice physician at Hospice of the Sacred Heart since 2008 and will assume the role of Medical Director on February 10, 2020.

“We’re thrilled that Dr. Kilduff, who has a long and commendable history with Hospice of the Sacred Heart, will be taking on the role of Medical Director. His patient-centered and mission-focused approach will serve our patients, families and staff very well,” said Diane Baldi, CEO, Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Dr. Kilduff has been a private practice physician at InterMountain Medical Group, Shavertown, since 2007. During his time at InterMountain, he served as a board member, member of the Medical Executive Committee WVHCS, Chairman of the Department of Medicine WVHCS, and Chief of Internal Medicine.

From 2007 to 2009, he served as a Physician Consultant dealing with physician level appeals against Medicare recovery audit contractors, applying Medicare local coverage determinations as a patient advocate. He was a physical therapist at Wyoming Valley Health Care System, Wilkes-Barre. Dr. Kilduff was an internal medicine resident at Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Kilduff received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in biochemistry from East Stroudsburg University, a Master of Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Bala Cynwyd.

He is a current member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine through the American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine.

Dr. Kilduff is very proud of being voted Times Leader Readers’ Choice Award for Best Family Doctor 2016 through 2019, Citizens’ Voice Readers’ Choice Award for Best Family Doctor 2017 through 2019 and Dallas Post Best of the Back Mountain Best Family Doctor 2010 through 2019.
