St. Mary’s Wins “Trim a Tree” Challenge

Erin Paciotti, right, of St. Mary’s accepts a plaque and prize from Wayne Hiller, the Lackawanna County Trolley Museum and Facilities Manager, for the school’s third place finish in the Electric City Trolley Museum’s “Trim A Tree” Challenge.

Students from area districts were involved in the decorating competition.  The Christmas trees were displayed over the holidays at the museum where visitors judged and voted for their favorite one.

 

PennDOT Spreads Christmas Joy with Annual Wish Program

PennDOT Employees of District 4, Dunmore, conducted their Annual Christmas Holiday Wish Program. This year, employees  delivered  65  Christmas gifts for preschool students ages 3-5 from the Head Start Program in Lackawanna County.

The funds were raised by the generosity of PennDOT employees in District 4.

Dunmoreans to Star in Annual Nutcracker Ballet

Ballet Theatre of Scranton and Marywood University will present the 42nd annual free performances of The Nutcracker Dec. 26, 27 and 28th at the Marywood Sette LaVerghetta Theater at 2 and 7:30 p.m. each day.

General public free tickets are available two hours prior to the specific performance at the Marywood box office.

Joanne Arduino, also a Dunmore resident is Artistic Director.  Another dancer , Elizabeth Conway of Dunmore, will perform the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
