Richard Armand Cola, 66, of Gouldsboro, passed away on Saturday, July 31^st, after a long illness.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Armand and Esther Comes Cola, Rick graduated from Dunmore High School in 1972. He was a Project Supervisor for Keystone Custom Houses and was a master tradesman. There was nothing he couldn’t do in the construction field.

He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion and an avid biker and fisherman.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife and caregiver, Carol; his brother, Tom Cola and wife, Anita; nephews, Thomas (Andrea) and Paul (Nina); grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held in Lehigh Cemetery, Gouldsboro, by Rev. Richard A. Mowery at the convenience of the family.

Remembering Eileen A. Straub

Eileen A. Straub, 86, Dunmore, died Sunday evening at Riverside Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Taylor surrounded by her loved ones at her time of passing, her son & daughter-in-law, granddaughter (Margherita), granddaughter (Tracy) and grandson (Brandon). A wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many that knew her. Like her mother, she was all about family values and will truly be missed. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Straub, Jr., who died in 2017.

Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Celia Boezi Bruschelli. Eileen was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

Surviving is a son, Joe Straub and his wife Michelle, Madison Township, a daughter, Carol Toro and her husband Tim, Clarks Summit, a sister, Vilma Valenza and her husband Sam, Dunmore, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Straub, Ph.D.

A private funeral service was held for family and close friends. Interment will take place in the Dunmore Cemetery. Eileen’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion.

Remembering Gregory James Malcolm

Gregory James Malcolm, 69, Scranton, died Sunday at home.

Born in Scranton, son of the late James and Romaine White Malcolm, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, and in 1975, he and his father were the first son-to-father kidney transplant in the United States, performed at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. He was a talented musician with a passion for playing the bass guitar and also loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors.

Surviving is his son Gregory, grandson Matthew Malcolm, and former wife Patricia Tur Malcolm, all of Dunmore; and cousins Kevin Locker, Keith Locker, Bobbi Ann Locker, Ann Marie Locker, Tommy Sokso, and Patti White.
