Celebrating Earth Day at the DEC

Dunmore Elementary Center PTA volunteers assisted again this year with the school’s Earth Day celebrations.

In honor of Earth Day, each student went home with EARTHBREEZE eco-friendly laundry detergent sheets for their household and a reusable straw for the student. Thank you #EarthBreeze for your generous donation and to #walmartdicksoncity who donated the Earth Day planting supplies and school carts utilized today.

Elementary Center PTA observes Autism Awareness Month

For National Autism Awareness Month in April, the Dunmore Elementary Center PTA had requested a donation from Harkla, which specializes in products for special needs children in orderĀ  to help create the ideal environment for them children to thrive.

The PTA spoke with the Autistic Support Teachers and Paras on what they wanted most, and the entire request was fulfilled by Harkla, including a compression swing, pod swing, and Weighted Animal lap blankets. DEC was also gifted with pre-pasted disposable toothbrushes that will be used to aid those students in learning proper oral care. Thank you to the teachers and all of the staff who support our students, and thank you, students, for showing us the world through your eyes!
