Elaine Dinning, age 72, was born and raised in Jessup. Married in 1969, but now divorced, the lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania had four children — three boys and one girl.

Although she loved being a mom, Elaine was not content with just cooking, cleaning, baking, and raising children. Over the years her interests branched out. She became an an avid bowler at both Idle hour lanes and Valley Lanes in Childs. She started doing ceramics and learned how to crochet. Elaine said her specialty is making crocheted afghans for family and close friends.

In 2016 she took a nasty fall on a replacement knee, that otherwise, had served her well since 1999. She was in for a long, painful, two-year road to recovery.  

She came to Dunmore Health Care with a goal of increasing balance, bi-lateral strength and expanding her tolerance to activity. Today, Elaine is happy to say, she can walk 65 feet. That’s the longest distance she has walked in two years because of the help and guidance of Dunmore’s Rehab Department staff.
