DEC takes third in “Trim a Tree” contest

The Lackawanna County Electric City Trolley Station & Museum recently recognized the winners and schools who participated in its annual “Trim A Tree” Challenge.

Students from area districts were involved in the decorating competition. 

The Christmas trees were displayed over the holidays at the museum where visitors voted for their favorite one.  Dunmore Elementary School finished third in the contest.

Helen Keller Day Fashion Show planned for April

Members of the Helen Keller Day Planning Committee recently met to make plans for the 94th annual Helen Keller Day, “Eyes on Fashion” Champagne Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held on Sunday, April 16, at Glenmaura National Golf Club. Cochairs for the event are Paula DePeters and Ellen Rudis.

New officers for Holy Cross Honor Society

The Holy Cross High School Chapter of the National Honor Society installed its 2022-20-23 officers recently. They are Mary McHugh, president; Ron Prislupski, vice president; Giuliana Mazza, secretary; Michael Allardyce, treasurer; Andrew Smith, parliamentarian, and Julianne Barrett, historian.
