Dunmoreans meet up and catch up at Moosic Lake

By Contributor Bill Ciccotti

Dunmore natives and members of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Grade School classes of 1965 and 1966 get together every fall at Jimmy McCormick’s Moosic Lake house to discuss old times and to laugh. For one glorious weekend every fall, the men of winter become the boys of summer once again. They travel from out-of-town, as well as out-of-state just to laugh with their friends and tell tall tales that somehow grow with every telling.

Brian McAndrew, who drove in from Maryland, said, “Being up here in the fall with these clowns is like being a Hallmark movie.”

Peter Loftus added, “Norman Rockwell should have painted a picture of these guys.”

Rob Meehan thought, “These are the best cheeseburgers I have ever had.”

Good friends, lifelong pals, best friends forever. Dunmore rabble-rousers one and all. You don’t see relationships that defy the ages to match those wild rovers. But then again, maybe it’s a Dunmore thing.
