Thomas “Bocker” Hunt and Robert “Beechie” Kelleher of the 1960s garage rock band The KREALS are shown outside the Fieldstone Tavern before one of their many concerts. The band was a Dunmore favorite in the late 60s and early 70s. They performed at Tippers A Go Go in Olyphant and the What’s Happening A Go Go in Scranton during their heyday.
One of their more memorable performances was a three-night concert held at the Erdman, known as the gateway to the Poconos. It was there that Bocker thrilled the girls with his amazing guitar riffs. And Donny Loftus first sang his one hit wonder, “Devil Girl.”
The band was also featured on WARM Land Radio a few times. And several members of the band were interviewed on the Harry West Show.
One thing that was agreed upon was Beechie’s four-minute drum solo during “Wooly Bully”, accompanied by the howling sounds of Jeremiah, which generated the crowd into a raging frenzy. The 60s will never return. But once we had the KREALS and that was a great Bucktown memory.
