Billy Joel bus trip
The Scranton Chapter of AARP will host a Bus trip to Villa Roma Resort to hear a musical Tribute to Billy Joel, starring Captain Jack, and his Band; on Tuesday, October 15. Enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a choice of three entrees: Roast Loin of Pork, Chicken Francese, or Fillet of Cod. The bus will board at Viewmont Drive (Staples) at 8:30 a.m. returning to Scranton at 7 p.m. Cost is $115 with gratuity, tax, and driver’s tip included. The public is invited. Construction Mgt. program
Marywood University is planning to celebrate the first anniversary of its distinctive Construction Management program with a special event and announcement in October. The event, which will be held on Wednesday, October 9, at 3 p.m., in the Center for Architectural Studies on Marywood’s campus, will provide attendees the opportunity to meet industry leaders, review student work, and take a “hard hat” tour.
The event will also recognize the Sordoni Family by naming the Sordoni Construction Management Program in honor of their generosity in support of the first and only four-year construction management program in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Marywood art show
The Maslow Study Gallery for Contemporary Art is currently featuring an art exhibit, “Expand Concepts of Space in the Maslow Collection,” which will run through October 18. In partnership with the School of Architecture’s Foundation Design course, this exhibition invites the viewer to explore the question, “What is space in artmaking?”
Featured artists include: Jurgen Albrecht, Alice Aycock, Robert Cumming, Aaron Fink, Peter Halley, Clint Jukkala, Denny Moers, Ad Reinhardt, Joel Shapiro, Anthony Sorce, Frank Stella, Ryan Ward, and Terry Winters.

The sensational Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox will perform for the first time at the F.M.
