The 12th Annual Lackawanna County Italian Flag Raising, commemorating the arrival of the Christopher Columbus Expedition on the shores of the Western Hemisphere and with October being Italian American Heritage and Culture Month, was conducted in October at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square.
Representatives of several Lackawanna County Italian American Organizations were present and spoke about their organization’s contributions to our Lackawanna County. The featured speaker was Stefanie Longo.
The Italian Anthem was sung by Emanuela Sica of Guardia Lombardi. Dunmore’s Keystone UNICO initiated this event in 2012.

Dunmore’s Keystone UNICO conducted its 12th annual Toys for Tots Drive at its Christmas Party at Fiorelli’s. The Marine’s look forward to attending this annual dinner to pick up the large quantity of toys donated by the chapter members and guests. Entertainment was provided by song stylist Jim Cerminaro. It was another joyous evening of food, song and comradery.
