Greek Odyssey Concert planned for this month

A Greek trio composed of Spiro Cardamis, Julie Ziavras, and Kostas Psarros will perform at the Greek Odyssey Concert on Oct. 15.

Prepare to embark on a captivating Greek musical journey with the Rossetti Foundation for the Arts & Culture’s upcoming Greek Odyssey Concert, on Sunday,  Oct. 15, from 6 – 9:30 p.m., at 1005 Vine St., Scranton.

Prior to the concert event, an open house art exhibit by Danielle Lehtinen will be held beginning at 3 p.m., then there will be a full concert performance by Julie Ziavras at 6 p.m., with food catered by The Gourmet Guys. Enjoy Greek libations, meze and a delicious Greek buffet.

The cost of attendance, which includes food, ranges from $25 – $199. Go online to choose your seat: VIP, Premier or attendee. The Gourmet Guys, Lou Hyde and Al Liberatore, will provide Greek cuisine at the Greek Odyssey Concert on Oct. 15.

A Diverse Repertoire will be presented by Julie Ziavras, a New York-born soprano of Greek descent, whose  diverse repertoire ranges from Greek music to international folk ballads and opera. Julie will be accompanied by Spiro Cardamis on the piano and bouzouki master Kostas Psarros.

The program will span from the plaintive and poignant to the rhythmic and lively, including selections from rembetika, the classic Greek blues songs, as well as traditional folk tunes.

In addition to the musical delights, attendees will be treated to a sumptuous Greek culinary experience. The evening will begin with Greek Meze, an assortment of delectable finger foods, followed by cocktails, Greek wine, and a buffet-style Greek dinner.
