Marywood open house
Marywood University will hold a summer undergraduate open house for high school students and their parents on Saturday, July 15. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Fireplace Lounge at the Nazareth Student Center on the University’s campus, and the last campus tour departs at 1:45 p.m.
The event will include informative tours of the campus, complimentary continental breakfast and lunch for all guests, and the opportunity to meet with current Marywood students, faculty, and athletic coaches. Information sessions with admissions and financial aid counselors will also be available.

Lap Swim Challenge
The Greater Scranton YMCA will host its inaugural Lap Swim Challenge on Saturday, June 17, at the YMCA’s facility, 706 N. Blakely Street, Dunmore. Proceeds will benefit the Stingray Swim Team.
Participants will get 45 minutes to swim as many laps as they can. A grand prize overall winner will be named, as well as medals for individual age group winters. A personal lap counter is provided and the first 50 participants who register will receive a free T-shirt. In honor of Father’s Day on June 18, all dads will eat free at the concession stand.
The challenge costs $30 to participate in and is open to Greater Scranton YMCA members and non-members. Registration packets are available at the YMCA’s Welcome Center, as well as online (https://www.greaterscrantonymca.org/programs/40081/lap-swim- challenge/?locations=13).

Hibernian Ladies
Ancient Order of Hibernians /Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Inc. of Lackawanna County, is inviting old and new members for an afternoon at the Laceworks Tap and Grill, 524 Court St, Scranton, on June 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. Light fare will be included.

Environmental camps
Local youths ranging from ages five through 13 have the opportunity to participate in summer day camps at the Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center, 93 MacKenzie Rd., Covington Township.
Each week-long camp takes place at LCEEC’s 211-acre property and LEED Gold Certified facility. Campers will spend time exploring natural habitats and playing summer games while the experienced staff guides campers through innovative experiential activities including hiking, stream and forest ecology, environmental activities, nature-based art projects and much more.

Transfer Tuesdays
Marywood University has set several dates in late spring and throughout the summer for its Transfer Tuesdays program. Transfer Tuesday events are for current or former college students, at all stages of their college journey, who are considering transferring to Marywood.
Transfer Tuesdays opportunities will take place on the following Tuesdays: June 20, July 18, and August 15. Those interested in the spring/summer Transfer Tuesdays events can schedule an appointment every half hour, beginning at 2 p.m. and running through 6 p.m.
Registered visitors can discuss financial aid and scholarship options, transfer credits, take a tour of campus, review credits for transfer eligibility, and complete an application for admission. Marywood University’s fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 28.

50th class reunion
The Dunmore Central Catholic High School/Bishop O’Hara class of 1973, 50th Class Reunion will be held on Nov. 18 at La Buona Vita, Reilly Street, Dunmore.
Committee members are seeking addresses of all classmates, local and out of town. Wheel of Fortune
“Wheel of Fortune LIVE!,” a theatrical experience, will be coming to the Scranton
Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple on Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. The live stage show, produced by Right Angle Entertainment in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and UTA, is the one-and-only way fans can experience America’s Game® in person outside of Sony Pictures Studios. Pat and Vanna will not be appearing during the tour.
