Mayor’s Message: August 2022

By Mayor Max Conway

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and were able to stay cool during that July Heat Wave!

It was a busy month for the Borough’s Police Department. In addition to keeping us safe daily, many of our officers participated in an “active shooter” training at Dunmore High School last month. Captain Billy Springer organized the training which included potential real-life scenarios as well as tours for all officers of both the Elementary Center and High School.

This is an unfortunate reality for school districts across the country, but I’m proud of our officers for being proactive and continuing to put our kids’ safety first.

In other Police Department news, the Borough Civil Service Commission has approved the scheduling of Civil Service Exams for entry-level positions within the Police Department. For more information on these open positions, please contact Mark Burton at the Borough Building.
