Blanche E. Germano

Blanche E. Germano, 67, of Dunmore passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Germano III. The couple would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in October.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late David and Virginia Wilmarth. Blanche was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School, class of 1973, and a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish.
Blanche took pride in her family and loved telling stories about her children and grandchildren. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and her ability to make everyone laugh. Blanche was happiest when helping others. She brought joy to countless senior citizens through her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and Moses Taylor Hospital. In her free time, Blanche enjoyed walking the streets of Dunmore, swimming at the YMCA, and going to car shows with her husband to show off their 1969 Camaro. She loved to paint and write poetry for and about her friends and family. Blanche also loved singing and music. She especially enjoyed singing with her beloved sisters and going to concerts at Nay Aug Park. She was an avid Scrabble player and could not get enough of her word searches and puzzles. Her favorite food was ice cream, no matter how cold it was or what time of day.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Michael J. Germano IV and wife, Joon, Voorhees, NJ, and Nick J. Germano, Dunmore; by her daughter, Virginia Carreno and husband, Dan, Denver, CO; sisters, Romayne Sternosky and husband, Walter, April Wilmarth, Sherry Falzone and husband, Edward, and Martha Keating, all of Scranton; brother, David Wilmarth and wife, Sally, Dunmore; grandchildren, Nicholas Germano, Jr., Dunmore, Annabella Rose and Aiden Germano, both of Voorhees, NJ; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Germano, Dunmore; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by infant brother, Jimmy; brother, Gary Wilmarth, and father-in-law, Michael Germano, Jr.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
