Marie A. Brazen Kirschenheiter

Marie A. Brazen Kirschenheiter, 87, Dunmore, died early Tuesday morning at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of both the late William Brazen who died in 1991 and the late Emil Kirschenheiter who died in 2008.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carmella Iagulli Zaccagnino. Nane, as she was known to her family and many friends, was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and was a graduate of Dunmore High School.
Marie’s family and especially her two granddaughters were the light of her life. Everything she did and was about centered around her family. This included her beloved grand puppies Elly and Dewey as well.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Jones and her husband William, and Lisa Harhut and her husband Mark, and twin granddaughters, Jessica and Amanda Harhut, all of Dunmore, a nephew Thomas Phillips, a niece Maria Courtright, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Slavinsky, Rosemary Phillips, and Ginger Wiktor as well as two brothers, Joseph and Emil Zaccagnino.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dunmore.
