The Mayor’s Message: March Update

By Max Conway
Mayor of Dunmore

It has been a busy first month in the Dunmore mayor’s office! One of the main highlights of this month was the sale of a blighted property located on Green Ridge Street that the Borough purchased last year. We recently sold the property to an individual who plans to renovate and revive the home back to its original grandness!

In addition to our continued fight against blight, we also started to take a closer look at potential options to remedy the problems with the Mill Street Bridge. I have been in contact with PennDot as well as our federal and state representatives to brainstorm ideas for potential solutions for a challenge that has been kicked down the road for far too long.

Some other things we have been working on include making significant progress on our “Safe Transfer Zone.” As a reminder, the safe zone will ensure a significantly safer experience with online transactions and domestic exchanges. We hope to have the safe zone fully operational at the Borough Building in the next few weeks.

We have also been looking into updating our Borough website, a mass notification system for announcements and alerts, and potential updates to Dunmore Corners!
