THIS MONTH: NEPA Premiere of “Lombardi” Play

lombardi playActors Circle will present the NEPA premiere of Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss on Oct. 24, 25, 26, 27, and Nov. 1, 2 and 3 at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road, Scranton. 

Directed by David Hunisch, performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $12 for general admission; $10 for senior citizens, and $8 for students. On Thursday, Oct. 24, tickets are discounted to $8 for general admission and seniors; $6 for students.

The play is about five-time NFL champion and two-time Super Bowl champion, Coach Vince Lombardi of the Green Bay Packers. Characters also include his players Dave Robinson, Jim Taylor, and Paul Hornung; the press, and his wife, Marie. Please be aware that Lombardi contains some adult language.
