Catherine Bianchi Named First Female UNICO District Governor

Upon her installation as a PA District Governor, Catherine Bianchi received her District Governor pin and congratulations from UNICO National President Lee Norelli of Philadelphia.

At the 97th Annual UNICO National Convention held this summer in Nashville, TN, Catherine Bianchi was installed as a PA District Governor by UNICO National President Lee Norelli, at left, of Philadelphia. 

Catherine is the first woman to become a District Governor, not only for District PA II but also for the state of Pennsylvania.  District PA II includes the Carbondale, Keystone, Sayre and Binghamton, NY Chapters of UNICO National.  

A native of Scranton and current resident of Olyphant, Catherine is the wife of Carl Bianchi and the daughter of Anthony Marrone and the late Louise Caterino Marrone.  She is a graduate of West Scranton High School and Lackawanna Junior College where she earned her associates degree in criminal justice as well as her Act 120 Municipal Police Officers Certification. 

During her tenure in law enforcement, she has served as a deputy sheriff for the Lackawanna County Sheriff’s Department, a police woman for the Dunmore Police Department, a detective for the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office, and most recently, she has retired from the PA Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control as a narcotics agent after 25 years of service. 

Catherine is a charter member of Dunmore’s Keystone Chapter UNICO National where she has served in many leadership capacities, including chapter president and chairman of the board of directors
